Knox Ricksen LLP announces that associate Melissa M. Marquez has been selected for inclusion in the 2023 edition of Southern California Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star.”
A Thomson Reuters rating service and publication, Southern California Super Lawyers selects outstanding attorneys from more than 70 practice areas through a rigorous, multifaceted nomination process that comprises a statewide survey of lawyers, detailed peer review and extensive research of each candidate. The objective of the selection process is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that may be used as a resource to assist in the search for legal counsel.
The Southern California Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” list recognizes attorneys who are under 40 or who have been practicing law for 10 years or less. Approximately two percent of Southern California attorneys received this distinction.
“Melissa brings a highly analytical mind to our clients’ cases, helping to unravel patterns of fraud and executing legal strategies that require extreme attention to detail. We’re proud that she has been recognized for her skill and experience with this distinction,” said Managing Partner Thomas Fraysse.
Marquez’s practice emphasizes litigation of complex civil matters that involve healthcare fraud, whistleblower actions, and qui tam matters. Her work entails prosecuting unlawful business practices such as fraudulent claims of services rendered, medical billing and coding; kickbacks, and illegal ownership of professional corporations. Marquez is a member of the California Lawyers Association Real Property Law Section, the Hispanic National Bar Association and the Mexican American Bar Association. She earned both her J.D. (2017) and her B.A., cum laude, (2014) from Suffolk University.
