An experienced litigator, Erik Gierczyk is a part of the Knox Ricksen team that represents clients in civil actions relating to insurance fraud and unfair business practices against healthcare providers, clinics, management services organizations, and their conspirators.

Early in his career, Erik gained an invaluable perspective serving as an assistant account executive for a national insurance carrier’s special liability group, where he managed environmental litigation and toxic tort claims from a coverage and liability standpoint on behalf of commercial clients as large as Fortune 100 corporations and spanning a 13-state region. During this time, he coordinated with clients and defense counsel to plan case strategies and negotiate with opposing counsel to settle disputes involving up to thousands of claimants in state and federal courts, including multi-district litigation.

In private practice, Erik has represented clients in sectors ranging from energy and transportation to banking and insurance in a wide variety of complex litigation in both state and federal courts, as well as mediations and appeals. Additionally, he was an assistant district attorney for the Collin County District Attorney’s office, where he represented the state as lead counsel in approximately 50 jury trials and managed a docket of several hundred cases.

Erik is a native Spanish speaker.
