Gregory Pike is a trial lawyer who has successfully represented clients in litigation throughout California resulting in more than 25 favorable jury verdicts. He represents individuals, corporations and other entities in civil prosecution of fraud under the California Insurance Frauds Prevention Act, unfair business practices under California’s Unfair Competition Law, and whistleblower suits against doctors, chiropractors, attorneys, corporate officers and directors, and other individuals and entities engaging in fraud and unfair or fraudulent business practices. These cases often include and are predicated upon fraudulent, false or misleading insurance claims prohibited by California Penal Code sections 549 and 550, prohibited self-referral, illegal kickbacks and fee-splitting, and violations of the Moscone-Knox Professional Corporation Act.
The healthcare fraud schemes Greg has prosecuted include unlicensed lay ownership and operation of “sham” medical or chiropractic clinics, illegal and improper use of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes on billing statements, including up-coding and unbundling and for employing cappers, runners or steerers to solicit and secure patients. Additionally, he represents clients, including Fortune 500 Companies, in personal injury, product liability and premise liability litigation, with an emphasis on large exposure cases involving catastrophic injury and wrongful death. Greg has successfully prosecuted and defended cases based upon negligence, premises liability, products liability and defective design/condition.
