Knox Ricksen Adds Ryan van Steenis as Counsel

Knox Ricksen LLP, a civil litigation firm specializing in complex healthcare fraud cases, has added Ryan van Steenis as Counsel in its Texas and California offices.

“Ryan is a results-driven, dynamic trial lawyer skilled in managing all aspects of litigation. Ryan has more than 17 years of experience in complex financial, commercial, and insurance defense litigation. He has a proven track record of success in high-stakes trials and arbitrations, possessing first chair experience in bench and jury trials, securing favorable settlements, and achieving substantial judgments and results for clients. Ryan received the Pro Bono Star Award from the Houston Bar Association in 2019. He was recognized by Southern California Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” from 2012-2014 and by Texas Super Lawyers from 2021-2025.

Ryan spent six years as a member of the Houston Bar Association’s CLE Committee. He earned his J.D. from the Washington University School of Law (2007), where he was the Associate Editor for the Journal of Law and Policy. He graduated, magna cum laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles (2003), earning a B.A. in history and political science. He is licensed in California and Texas.
